If you are planning a trip to Wincanton races this afternoon, you are in for an additional treat. Between the fifth and sixth races there will be a parade of some of the West country Cheltenham Festival winners including our very own Buena Vista. Also in the line-up are Big Buck's, Oiseau de Nuit, Denman and Kauto Star. There should be plenty to see and do for the whole family, including a twenty runner mascots race to raise funds for the Children's Trust. Let's hope there is not an Olympic class athlete dressed up in one of those mascot suits...I know it sounds stupid, but it happened once at Huntingdon and a few bookmakers had their fingers well and truly burnt!
Talking of our local racecourses, it is good to see that Exeter are getting into the spirit of the forthcoming Royal Wedding. Anyone who turns up dressed as a Prince or Princess will get free entry into the course on 26th April. The start point to claim your free entry is www.lovetheraces.com - I know of a few people who could go as Queen's...you know what I mean!

I see that one of our regular visitors to the yard, novelist Jilly Cooper has been in Meydan for the Dubai World Cup. She looked very relaxed...I wonder if she might be planning a novel set out there? With all those camels around, she would surely get the hump...sorry, I couldn't resist.
Apparently one of the local papers in Meydan has led with a piece about Buena Vista being their selection for the Dubai World Cup...the only trouble with that is they have a picture of our dual Cheltenham Festival Hero Buena Vista on the front page! I reckon the person who put the picture in the paper received a right earful from the editor!
