Conor O'Farrell's hot streak continued yesterday when he won on E Street Boy at Wincanton. The official winning distance was 2½ lengths but he did win fairly comfortably so I think the handicapper will raise our five year old quite a lot. It was a Conditional jockeys race however so he can potentially run without carrying a penalty again before the handicapper has his say. Our only other runner yesterday, Choumakeur had one off his off days. He can be a little quirky and although he did finish a well beaten third there will be another day for him. Buena Vista also went to Wincanton to parade. Wincanton had assembled and eight strong team of horse who performed well at the Cheltenham Festival and included Al Ferof, Big Buck's, Denman, Kauto Star, Captain Chris, Holmwood Legend and Oiseau De Nuit. It was a great idea by the course so the public could see the stars of the National Hunt Season and Buena Vista really enjoyed his day out!

There is a big piece in the Racing Post today about Conor O'Farrell written by Alistair Down. Conor says "you couldn't find a more straight forward man to work for than David Pipe"! Conor is a typical Irish man who has the gift of the gab! You have got to remember that Conor worked for Charlie Swan, probably one of the best Irish jockeys of all time and an absolute gentleman. Charlie rode a fair few winners for MCP and I got to know him a little bit when he used to come over and stay at Pond House. Our young Irish man could not have had a better teacher than Charlie and he is certainly riding at the top of his game at the moment.
I see there are a couple of birthdays today so I would just like to wish them all a Happy Birthday! Heather Silk a former owner who used to own the great Carryonharry and Luke Harvey is 45 today. Luke has already lost his hair but being on TV must age you! Luke has a great record riding for MCP, 100%, one ride one winner and MCP would not put him up again! I am only joking but one bank holiday it was either Luke or myself! Luke is a great presenter these days and I like tuning in to see him on Attheraces.
