I see that the Taunton Vale Harriers are hosting a point-to-point at Fennington Farm on Easter Monday, 25th April. Some of the meetings lately have been decimated by firm ground meaning that there have been very few runners. They will be taking no chances a week on Monday and will be watering three or four days in advance of the fixture to ensure that the ground is okay and there is a good turnout. If you have never been pointing, it is an enjoyable day out where you will get to see plenty of familiar names that used to compete under rules, as well as maybe a potential star or two of the future.

You just cannot keep a good man down...Barry Dennis has decided to come out of retirement after just a couple of months away from the betting ring. He said that he would sit at home clock watching and waiting for the racing channel to come on the television, "Jesus, when your life amounts to actually willing Matt Chapman to come on your telly you know there is something sadly amiss!"...I know what he means.

I have been told that Mark Johnston has three greyhound puppies. I wonder if he is going to train them? One thing is for sure, they will certainly be fit!
