It is the offical end of the National Hunt jumps season today at Sandown.  AP wins the Champion jockey title for the 16th year in a row, well done champ!  Just think of poor Richard Johnson, I don't mean poor in money terms as Richard would certainly be worth a few quid but I mean poor has he has been runner up to AP in the title race on 13 occasions.  Johnson must be wondering if AP will ever retire as just to win the title once would be good on his CV and much deserved.  He is a brilliant jockey and in any other era he would have been a fantastic multiple champion I am sure.  Anyway the jumps season starts all over again tomorrow and Richard and all the other jockeys will be travelling all over the country chasing winners!

The other Champions include Paul Nicholls as trainer once again and talented Sam Twiston-Davies wins the Conditional jockeys title.  Trevor Hemmings in champion owner.  Trevor was my old boss when I worked for Pontins holiday camps years ago.  In fact I played Trevor at table tennis once and I remember he was not that bad at all and in fact he is a lot better than me at making money, he towers over Blackpool, well I mean he does own Blackpool tower!

David is going to have his first ever runner in the Irish Grand National at Fairyhouse on Monday.  Or Noir De Somoza is travelling across the Irish Sea today and will be ridden by Conor O'Farrell in the big race.  Meanwhile.there is lots of racing action all over the country today and the extra meetings are mainly due to the fact there was no racing on Good Friday yesterday.  David has four runners at Sandown (Raslan,Kazzene,Faasel,Gentle Ranger), one at Haydock (Matuhi) and one at Newton Abbot (Frosted Grape).  I am sure there will be a bumper bank holiday crowds at all of these courses with people out enjoying the glorious weather.  It would be great to finish the season with a winner so fingers crossed and have a good day everyone!
