There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps fixtures from Haydock and our local track, Taunton, whilst there is an all-weather flat card from Lingfield. David has runners at both jumps meetings today with Night Edition, Queens Cave and Great Tempo running at Taunton and Buster Edwards and First Lord de Cuet (pictured above) representing the Pond House team at Haydock.
Buster Edwards runs in the 3m½f conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle at Haydock at 12.25pm. He was a ready winner under similar conditions last time out at Hereford and a 4lbs rise in the weights does not look unreasonable. Welsh National winning jockey Jack Tudor is in the saddle and he claims 3lbs off his back and he looks to have a good chance. Our other runner at Haydock, First Lord de Cuet contests the 1m7½f novices' hurdle at 1.30pm. He put up a good performance to win last time from a very useful flat recruit and he should go well again despite a 6lbs penalty. David Noonan takes the ride and has won on him before.
A bit nearer to home, Night Edition contests the juvenile hurdle at 12.45pm. He has had three runs on the flat in France and showed a useful level of form when bolting up on heavy ground last time. He returns from a little break here and will clearly handle the testing conditions and has each-way prospects under Tom Scudamore.
Queens Cave runs in the Listed mares' novices' hurdle at 2.25pm. She has shown a good level of form this season, winning at Exeter and finishing runner-up to Silver Forever at Chepstow. She has a 3lbs pull for 4 lengths on that form but needs to improve on her last effort at Cheltenham. A tongue-tie has been applied for the first time and Tom Scudamore is in the saddle.
Our final runner of the day is Great Tempo who runs in the staying handicap chase at 2.55pm for the David Pipe Racing club. He stuck on when fourth over 2m5f at Ffos Las last time, giving the impression that a step-up in trip will suit. He is 5lbs lower today and young Fergus Gillard keeps the ride and claims 7lbs off his back. This is a wide-open contest where the bookmakers go 11/2 the field. Another with each-way claims.

Liverpool did not fall foul of Wolves yesterday, maintaining their pace at the top of the Premier League. Meanwhile, Chelsea did well to beat Arsenal away from home, whilst Manchester City overcame their midweek blip with success over Sheffield United.
