I see that five riders face race-fixing allegations - why do people get mixed up in these scandals? Now that punters can lay horses to lose races, it seems like there are many more of these type of stories uncovered. Sometimes I see horses drift in the market and I wonder what is going on - I am much more suspicious of market movers than I ever used to be. I hope that the Jockey Club have got it right because it will be a real embarrassment to racing if they haven't - I just wonder why it takes so long now that they have brought charges (the jockeys can continue to ride until October)? Personally I think we could do with a Judge Judy - she would sort it out!

I see that the owner of Henrys Air, Alan Wright was a little disgruntled that he missed the 80/1 about his winner. Even so, he managed to get a bit of 66's...it's a tough life Alan - i once backed Baron Blakeney at 50/1 and was really annoyed when he won at 66/1! I had the hump because I back so many 50/1 winners!

I was amused to see Richard Hughes' comments about Ryan Moore after the former champion jockey got him the ride aboard the Luca Cumai trained Presvis in the Singapore International Cup. Hughsie said "Ryan is probably the best jockey in the world at the moment" - come on Richard, I know Ryan put you forward for the ride, but let's not go over the top! Talking of Richard Hughes, I see that he fancies Puttingonthestyle to win at Windsor on Monday night. Apparently he should now be spot-on...it's an easy game!

It will be interesting to see how Daryl Jacob fares now that he has been given the position of number two jockey at Paul Nicholls powerful yard. Daryl will get the call up for the rides on some fantastic horses when Ruby is not available, although it could be something of a poisoned chalice...it certainly didn't seem to do much for the confidence of Sam Thomas!

Finally, below you will find a picture of Choumakeur during a solo piece of work on the gallops under amateur jockey Kieron Edgar.
