Following the abandonment of Fontwell due to waterlogging, there are just three meetings taking place this afternoon.  The jumps action comes from Catterick whilst there are two all-weather flat fixtures from Lingfield and Kempton.  There are no runners from the Pond House team today and the stable jockeys have also decided to take the day off which doesn't really come as a big surprise now that Cheltenham is only a matter of days away.

There was no joy at Exeter yesterday afternoon with Hugo 'N Taz faring best of our two runners when fourth in the 3m novices' handicap chase.  He couldn't pick up with the leaders in the straight from his revised handicap mark.  This was a competitive little race with only a few points separating all of the runners in the market.  A winner over almost half a mile further on his previous start, he will be at his best when stamina is at a premium.  Great Tempo was pulled up in the staying handicap chase and he has now disappointed on his last couple of starts at the track.

David was on the panel at Exeter's Cheltenham Festival Preview last night.  Jockey Matty Batchelor was the MC for the evening and did a great job, keeping everyone entertained.  The event was free to attend which I thought was a very good idea and I hope it helped to get a few extra people through the turnstiles.

Chelsea enjoyed a good result last night as they dumped Liverpool out of the FA Cup, beating them 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.  David will be pleased!  Meanwhile, in the other fifth round action Sheffield United beat Reading and Newcastle United got the better of West Brom.

There are three more matches to look forward to tonight with Leicester hosting Birmingham, Sheffield Wednesday taking on Manchester City and Spurs playing Norwich.

I ordered a chair for my mother in law but I had to send it back.  There was nowhere to plug it in!
