Imagine having a bet and winning and the bookmakers will not pay you out. Well Betfred are refusing to pay out online bets in a Barney Curley coup. What does it matter if four of the account holders are related to Barney? Betfred say they have bets showing a profit of £823,000 but they would be void under the company rule 10 which states that any person or group of persons acting in an attempt to defraud Betfred.com will have their bets void. I can't see how these people have broken any laws or is it the bookmakers law, they shall not win?!
Surely when the prices started to tumble they should have got rid of some of their liabilities? It appears to me that someone in their office is not very switched on. Perhaps they should employ Barney Curley, he would sort them out! Betfred are based in Gibralter and it is about time this government stops firms being outside the country.
There is one week to go to the start of Royal Ascot and I can't wait! There will be some great races to look forward to and Junior is all set to run in the Ascot Stakes on the opening day. It will be tough for our gelding carrying 10 pounds more than he did in the race last year but he is so tough and versatile and he has not run a bad race since joing Pond House. He is in good form at home and the countdown is on to next Tuesday and we are all busy dusting down our top hat and tails!
I was watching the racing from Newton Abbot yesterday and I was very impressed with Nicky Henderson's winner Joker Choker. I think he will run this horse again quickly as the six year old won with a ton in hand and jockey Richard Killoran could not believe how far he was in front. They will have to run with a penalty and he will be very hard to beat. He already has a mark of 124 and he beat a horse rated 121 by about 20 lengths so he could be set for a fair rise in the ratings.
