What an amazing couple of days it has been for owner Eddie Rice. His Bold Perk won with a ton in hand yesterday afternoon at Perth and was recording his second success at the Scotland track in as many days. He won in good style over fences on Thursday and followed-up in even more facile fashion yesterday when returned to hurdles - the step up in trip really seemed to play to his strengths and he never looked in any kind of danger as he recorded his third victory within a fortnight under conditional jockey Conor O'Farrell. Young Conor seems to be getting better with every ride, although in fairness I reckon he would have still gone close with me in the saddle!

The problem is that he cannot run again before the handicapper reassesses him - he has already been raised by 20lbs for his first success and looks sure to go up further for his latest wins. Just how high will the numbers go?...let's just hope that nice Mr Handicapper does not know any big numbers! At least David will have the choice of hurdles or fences in the future with this versatile and improving nine year old.
He has arrived home safe and sound and will be going back to his owners farm for a well deserved rest - below you will see a picture of him enjoying a pick of grass in one of the Pond House paddocks.

I will be tuning in to watch the Wimbledon men's semi-finals this afternoon as Andy Murray takes on world number one Rafa Nadal for the third time at this stage of the competition. It looks like Nadal's foot injury is okay, while Murray has also been carrying a minor ailment. Murray has beaten Nadal four times (although all of those successes were on hard courts), but Nadal has the upper hand with eleven wins. Nadal is the bookies favourite at 1/2 while Murray is 9/5 - sounds like a Dolly Parton song!
Maria Sharapova looks majestic (on and off the court!) and is odds-on for her second Wimbledon ladies title. Is she getting taller? If she were a filly you would certainly say that she was a bit on the leg!
