Yesterday Bathwick Man was a little disappointing on the flat at Salisbury.  He travelled well but when they quickened he could not quicken with them but of course remember he was a good winner over hurdles at Newton Abbot last week so I am sure he will bounce back to form when we put some obastacles back in front of him again!  In some of yesterday's other action, owner/trainer Mike Sowersby won the selling handicap at Beverley.  He is quoted as saying in the paper "I bought her at Doncaster last week and haven't even paid for her yet!".

He was lucky as the filly won by six lengths and he got away without a bid at the auction after.  If you win a seller by that distance normally it attracts a bid or two but for them I am glad that no one did.  She looks capable of winning again so if I was Mike I would pay Doncaster quickly!  At Newmarket yesterday Planetoid looks useful and one to follow.  The handicapper had offically put him up ten pounds so was racing four pounds 'well in' yesterday but he still looked fairly green.  He is sure to improve with experience and could follow up next time.

In the first days action at the USPGA golf championships at Georgia Rory Mcilroy hit a root at the bottom of a tree and injured his wrist but he played on and did well to finish his round.  In typical fashion he went for a full blooded shot instead of just hitting the ball out sideways onto the fairway.  Lets just hope his wrist is okay and he can continue to play today.

Back to the cricket.  The Indian test team would struggle to bowl out Brixham Town cricket club at the moment.  It is probably the worst test attack in the world.  England are good but I think India are making them look better than they actually are.
