Heure De Gloire runs at Ffos Las this Evening

It is a busy evening for the team at Ffos Las tonight with five runners from Pond House heading to West Wales.  Dindin is our first runner on the card, in the 6.00pm handicap chase with Philip Armson on board.  He ran his best race to date since coming from France at Newton Abbot the other evening to finish third with a blunder two out not helping his cause.  He should appreciate going back up in distance in this race and while it looks pretty competitive on paper and reproduction of his latest run should give him a chance in this.  Miss M is our second runner on the card and she runs in the 6.35pm mares handicap chase.  She finished fourth, albeit well beaten at the track last time and again should appreciate going back up in distance in this race tonight.  There is already one non runner so leaves a field of seven.  Our mare is one of the outsiders in this contest but fingers crossed she can put her best foot forward and we will see how she gets on for the David Pipe Racing Club.

Ladykiller runs in the 7.40pm handicap hurdle over 2m4f with Tom Scu in the saddle.  He ran his best race over hurdles to date at Worcester last time and with the addition of a tongue tie we hope he can go one place better and win!  He has a big engine but things have not quite worked out as expected but he will like the track and the trip and he should not be too far away.  Itacare has to put a disappointing run last time at Market Rasen behind him but if he can bounce back to the form he showed at Chepstow and Ludlow before that then he has a chance in his race at 8.10pm, a handicap hurdle over 2m7f.  The track should suit and while a competitive race once again he can hopefully run well in the colours of Somerset Racing.  Our final runner of the day is Heure De Gloire in the concluding 2 mile handicap hurdle at 8.40pm.  Our mare was a runaway winner over course and distance on her penultimate start but ran badly at Southwell last time.  That was over 2m4f and I am sure she will appreciate dropping back down in distance to 2 miles.  Fingers crosses the blinkers continue to have a positive effect once again.  The Racing Post have her at 11/2 third in the betting.

Unfortunately, we could not run Flammarion at Nottingham last night after he was not quite right before being loaded on the lorry.  We made the wise decision not to travel and there will be other days for him.  There was another good days action at the Royal Meeting yesterday and it was lovely for trainer Joseph O'Brien to get his first Royal winner.  State of Rest won the St James Palace Stakes under a good front running ride from Shane Crosse.  The action continues thick and fast for Day 3 today with the feature race, the Gold Cup at 4.20pm.  A high class field is headed in the betting by the Aidan O'Brien trained, Ryan Moore ridden Kyprios but a lot of the public no doubt will be rooting for the popular Stradivarius.  Don't rule out Trueshan or Princess Zoe in what promised to be a super race.

Enjoy the sunshine and all the action everybody and have a good Thursday!
