Ramses De Teillee runs at Carlisle Today

It is a pair of runners for the stable this morning with Ramses De Teillee running at Carlisle and Anglers Crag at Chepstow.  Ramses is having and overnight trip to Carlisle and Conor O'Farrell rides him in the Veterans handicap chase at 3.35pm.  Ramses has had three runs this season and has run well on each occasion, winning at Warwick, finishing runner up in the Veterans final at Sandown and third at Exeter last time.  He is about 3/1 second best in the betting and I think he will run well.  He is in good form at home and will enjoy the testing conditions at the track.  There are seven runners and and he looks to have a good chance.

Anglers Crag runs in the 2.05pm handicap chase over 2m7f with Jack Tudor on board.  He was running a great race when falling on chasing debut at Exeter but back at the track last time he was disappointing after making a bad mistake mid race.  That race may have come too quickly after the previous effort but he has had a nice break since then and heads to the Welsh track in good form.  He is an Irish point to point winner and will enjoy todays track and conditions and I think he is is now well treated with his handicap mark.  If he puts it all together this afternoon I certainly wouldn't put anyone off  backing him.

Chepstow and Carlisle are the only race meetings today so we can all draw breath after an excellent week of racing at Cheltenham.  The horses did that talking and it is one of the  best weeks racing I can remember.  After a day out at Cheltenham for me on Tuesday it was a busy week back in the yard and I am pleased everything all went smoothly.  Our marquee at Cheltenham was a success and I think everyone who attended enjoyed their days out as well.  It certainly is a good base to get away from the hustle and bustle, especially when it started raining as well.

There is one Premier League football match this afternoon with Arsenal at home to Crystal Palace at 2.00pm.  It is also quarter finals day in the FA Cup with three matches being played with the one I am most interested in being Manchester United against Fulham at 4.30pm.  I am not sure I shall be watching however as I am hoping to go point to pointing at Kilworthy on the edge of Dartmoor this afternoon.  Amateur Gearoid Harney is in action here while I know Martin McIntyre heads to Ston Easton on the Mendips for a few rides.

I am actually feeling pretty exhausted but I hope you all have a good Sunday whatever you might be up to.  We had a contest at work for the best neckwear...it was a tie!  Happy Sunday!
