Shot Boii runs today at Warwick!
It was great to have jump racing back yesterday and even though Fakenham was lost to the weather elements, Lingfield went ahead as planned with some good racing. The action continues today at Warwick and an extra meeting put on at Plumpton following the recent abandonments. We have one runner at Warwick, Shot Boii and two runners at Plumpton, Ben Lilly and Kauto Kawai. Only The Bold was declared at Plumpton but only in case Lingfield was called off yesterday so does not run.

Shot boii runs in the 3.40pm Handicap Chase over 3 miles at Warwick and Jack Tudor rides. He got off the mark over the larger obstacles at Hereford last time in good style. This was in a first time visor and he wears the same headgear again this afternoon. This will be tougher off a seven pound higher mark but he’s in good form at home and the track and ground will suit at 4/1 in the betting he shouldn’t be far away.

Ben Lilly runs in the 3.20pm Handicap Hurdle over 3 miles and David Noonan rides at Plumpton. He has been pretty consistent since returning from a break this season, winning twice and being placed on other occasions as well. He ran better than his finishing position at Doncaster last time And is in good form at home. He probably won’t want too much rain but the track will suit and at 10/1 I think he looks a good each way price.

Kauto Kawai runs in the concluding race on the Plumpton card the 3.55pm handicap hurdle over 2 miles 4 furlongs. He is making his handicap debut off a mark of 100 and stepping up in trip for the first time. He has undergone wind surgery since his last run and Nick Scholfield rides. He has taken a while to acclimatise to life in Britain but ran a nice race behind some useful rivals to finish fifth at Exeter when last in action. He has always appeared that a step up and trip will suit, hopefully the track won’t get too much rain and he won’t be too far away. He is about 6/1 third best in the betting And I think he can run well.

Kintaro ran okay on stable debut at Lingfield on Saturday. He was a little on and off the bridle throughout under Rob Hornby but he felt he hit the line strong and galloped all the way to the finish. He is a four year-old and we are still learning about who has schooled well at home and it’ll be interesting to see what he can do over hurdles. Only The Bold ran Lingfield yesterday in the Surrey National. he ran better for a long way under Jack Tudor and even though he pulled up, I thought it was a step back in the right direction.  he jumped and travelled well but the ground was not soft enough. Hopefully we can improve again next time maybe when returned back to 3 miles on softer conditions.

Plumpton and Warwick are the two jump fixtures today, but there are also two all weather fixtures at Kempton and Wolverhampton. There is no racing in Ireland.

Rory McIlroy had a great weekend in Dubai coming from an uncompromising position to win the tournament at 14 under par. It was the fourth time he has won this event and he looked in great form.

In yesterday’s premiership football action, Sheffield United drew 2-2 with West Ham while Liverpool beat Bournemouth 4-0. There is one premiership match this evening. Brighton are at home to wolves, 7:45 pm kickoff There were lots of runners and plenty of competitive races at the local Chipley Park point to point yesterday. There was a good crowd and the weather stayed fair until Just before the last race! There were no significant winners to report from my end but it was nice to catch up with lots of familiar faces.

My husband feinted on the baggage carousel at the airport.

Thankfully he came round!!

Happy Monday!!
