Ocean at Kempton!

Today we just have the one runner and it’s on the all-weather at Kempton this evening, Ocean Heights, our seven year old runs in the 6.45pm handicap over 1m4f and Aiden Brookes rides.  He loves Kempton and has runs well on every occasion there this winter and won over course and distance 31 days ago.  He is slowly creeping up the weights but our jockey claiming five pounds off helps.  I don’t think he has finished improving yet and I am sure he will be thereabouts in the finish tonight.  He takes on some of those that finished behind him the last time and hopefully they will be behind him again this evening!  He is currently 7/2 favourite in the betting.

Yesterday we had two runners at Newbury Sizing Pottsie who finished seventh, he kept going well enough but was well behind the principals.  Man At Work was our second runner and he looked a bit rusty on his return to action but he seems all fine this morning. 

There are three jumps meetings today at Newbury, Doncaster and Kelso.  Newbury have a further inspection at 10am this morning as it has failed it's early morning inspection, due to standing water. Fingers crossed it goes ahead as the card features the Greatwood Gold Cup at 1.55pm, while the Grimthorpe handicap chase in the main race at Doncaster at 3.40pm.  It is also a big card at Kelso with the Morebattle hurdle at 2.50pm.  Plenty of good action to watch on the TV from all three jumps meetings in Britain.  In Ireland they race over jumps at Navan with Graded race action.  While the all-weather action today comes from both Wolverhampton and Kempton.

There are seven Premier League football matches today, no early kick offs but Luton play Aston Villa this evening, 5.30pm start. 

 Wife: Sometimes I like to mess with my husband and hide his stuff where he can’t find it.

Like, I put his shoes in the cupboard, his jacket on the hanger and his keys on the key hook!
