           Remastered runs today!

Today we head off to Ascot with one runner one of the old boys Remastered in the 4:30pm Veterans Chase over 3miles and Jack Tudor rides. He seems in great form at home but his form on the track has been disappointing. He has been contesting some high class races however and the handicapper has given him a bit of help. He wears cheek pieces for the first time today and we hope these combined with some better ground will help. He is about 10/1 in the betting and I would love to see him return to form.

I saw that Harry Cobden has successfully appealed his three day suspension, which for him is great news as he won't miss any action for his first championship race against Sean Bowen, only a few more weeks left of the season and it seems the both jockeys have enjoyed the challenge and making good fun of it along the way - which is always the best way as the jumps season can be long and tiring!

As well as jump action at Ascot today in Britain there is Flat racing at Doncaster and in Ireland there is jumps action at Limerick and a flat card at Naas.
Yesterday First Lord Du Cuet ran well enough to be third at Newbury. Racing was delayed earlier in the afternoon due to a medical emergency to a member of the Newbury team. It meant our race due to be at 5pm was not until about 5.45pm. Low sun meant all four fences in the home straight, therefore eight in the whole race were omitted. This was not ideal for us, or probably many of the others. We led until bypassing the second last fence but then he got a little tired and was passed. The blinkers certainly sharpened him up and he may be worth dropping back in trip next time.

Today I am off point to pointing at Kilworthy on the edge of Dartmoor. We run Castle Darag with Lukke Morris riding in the restricted race. I shall let you know how they get on tomorrow!

I thought England played well in their 1-0 defeat to Brazil at Wembley last night but we just lacked the killer instinct in the final third. We have some very talented players at the moment and the manager just needs to get the best out of them.

A sweater I was wearing was picking up static electricity so I took it back to the shop I bought it from.

They gave me another one free of charge!

Happy Sunday!!
