Easter Weekend!

There is plenty of racing action once again today for the Easter weekend with three jumps meetings at Ffos Las, Plumpton and Market Rasen.  There is an all-weather card at Southwell and in Ireland they have jumping at Cork and the second day of the Fairyhouse meeting.  We have one runner today, Sizing Pottsie at Ffos Las.

Sizing Pottsie runs in the 4.00pm handicap hurdle over two miles and Gearoid Harney rides.  He was a bit below par at Newbury last time but that was a more competitive race over slightly further and the handicapper has given him a little more help.  He wears first time blinkers today which will sharpen him up and the track and ground will suit.  Gearoid gets on well with him and even though he is the outsider of the field I would hope he has a good each way chance.  Stable jockey Jack Tudor looks to have some good outside rides today at Ffos Las, so fingers crossed he might be able to add to his seasons winner tally.

There are some cracking races at Fairyhouse with Graded action which includes the WillowWarm Gold Cup at 4.55pm over 2m4f.  The betting suggests it is between the top two in the market, Blood Destiny and Spillane’s Tower but it a competitive seven runner field.  There are also two Grade 2 novices hurdles on the card as well. 

I am hopefully going to Cherrybrook point to point on the edge of Dartmoor today, it is one of just a few meetings around the country to survive the wet weather week.  We are planning to run Castle Daragh at Cothelstone point to point tomorrow in the hunt race and it will be the first ever ride for 16 year old Conal Kavanagh.  He has ridden in pony races and is in his first season of working at Pond House.  His dad Noel, was a conditional at the yard when I first started here 20 years ago and his brother Ryan works for Newmarket trainer Amy Murphy and rides on the flat.  Fingers crossed for a safe passage round and we will see what happens!

There are just the two Premier League football matches today with Liverpool against Brighton at 2pm and very important top of the table clash at 4.20pm between Manchester City and Arsenal. 

My boyfriend borrowed £100 from me.  After three years when we separated, he returned exactly £100.

I lost interest in that relationship!
