Shot Boii runs today!
Today we have two runners at Plumpton and two point to pointing at Cotley near Chard. Mr Tambourine Man and Shot Boii are our representatives at Plumpton and both are ridden by Jack Tudor. Mr Tambourine Man runs in the 2.05pm handicap hurdle over 3m1f.
He has been struggling for form a little in recent runs but ran better that his pulled up suggests at Exeter last time and Harry Cobden was reasonably happy enough with our seven year old. He has had a few niggles in the past, so has been a little tricky to train and that run on ground softer than ideal should have brought him on nicely and we have had a smooth run at home since then. He has dropped down the ratings quite a lot, which helps and while I won’t be rushing to back him I think he has an each way chance at 12/1.
Shot Boii runs in the 3.50pm handicap chase. He has been wonderfully consistent all season and won at Hereford and probably ran his best race to date over fences to be second at Chepstow last time over 3m6f. I think he will enjoy the better ground today and shouldn’t mind the track. He is about 6/1 third best in the betting and hopefully he won’t be too far away.
There two jumps meetings today at Plumpton and Hereford and in Ireland they have jumps action at Down Royal.
We are running both Castle Daragh and Moodofthemoment at Cotley point to point today. Lukke Morris will be back on board Castle Daragh in the restricted race, while Conal Kavanagh will partner Moodofthemoment in the novice riders race. Castle Daragh will be hoping to build on his second place last time, while Moodofthemoment is making his British pointing debut having won a maiden in Ireland previously.
There are three Premiership football matches today with Liverpool against Crystal Palace and West Ham against Fulham at 2pm. Arsenal vs. Aston Villa is at 4.30pm so it will be interesting to see who is at the top of the table at the end of the day.
Exeter Chiefs travel to Toulouse today to play in the quarter final of the Investec Champions Cup, kick off is at 3pm.
Scottie Scheffler, Max Homa and Bryson DeChambeau share the co-lead in the Masters Golf at Augusta at the half way point at -6. Conditions were very tough on Friday with strong winds, but Tiger Woods played well and made the cut setting a record, being his 24th consecutive cut at this magnificent event. Rory McIlroy struggled and was +4 at the half way stage, not out of things but ten shot off the lead.
A friend asked me if I had seen the film, “Tractor”.
“No”, I replied, “but I’ve seen the trailer!”
Have a lovely Sunday.
