Today is the start of the new season in Britain, the stable does not have any runners. It is the last day of the Punchestown Festival over in Ireland. Yesterday some more milestones were met, as State Man grabbed his tenth Grade 1 success in the Punchestown Champion Hurdle, his record at Punchestown is now 5 from 5! It was mentioned that the plan for State Man for next season to stay hurdling and he may even have a clash with Constitution Hill in the future, which would be quite the race I think! His trainer Willie Mullins also cracked another record as he became the most winning Irish trainer as Ballyburn notched up his 4,378th victory!

The Qipco 2,000 Guineas is set to take place today at Newmarket, the runners have all been confirmed and in total, there are 11 of them. City Of Troy the mount of Ryan Moore seems to hold the cards on both his form and his pedigree, but it should be an interesting race as you can make a case for them all. The race is set to go off at 3:35pm.

Today jump racing returns after a week’s break with action at Uttoxeter and Hexham and there are plenty of runners at both meetings. The flat action continues at Newmarket, Goodwood, Yarmouth and Thirsk.

In the football last night, Luton and Everton were playing in the English Premier League and their game finished with a 1-1 result, as they drew it means Luton have missed the chance to move out of the Premier Leagues relegation places. Today there is plenty of action to see this afternoon with the Premier League continuing. Arsenal vs. Bournemouth kicking off at 12:30pm. Brentford vs. Fulham, Burnley vs. Newcastle, Sheffield vs Nottingham Forest and finally Manchester City vs Wolverhampton who are all set to kick off at 3pm.

I told a chemistry joke once...

It didn't get much of a reaction!

Have a great Saturday!
