A Steady Tuesday!

Yesterday we had one runner at Hereford, Behind The Curtain for the David Pipe Racing Club. He ran a great race and returned to form from the front, he did everything right, but unfortunately he just got caught close to home! I'm sure over the summer he can get his head in front again. 

Today the stable has no runners but there is jumps racing at Southwell and flat action in Beverley, Chepstow and Ayr. In Ireland, they race over the flat in Killarney.

On Sunday evening, the Bafta’s took place and ITV Racing became a second time Bafta winner for the production of the opening day of last year’s Cheltenham Festival deemed the best sports broadcast of 2023. ITV Racing had a tough competition with the Women’s World Cup against them, but the ITV team prevailed and took glory. It was an extra special win as Ed Chamberlain dedicated the Bafta win to Jack De Bromhead, trainer Henry De Bromheads son. The connection was with Honeysuckle and her action packed success at Cheltenham that year, which certainly meant much more to the Bromhead family that year especially after losing young Jack in late 2022. Racing can be such a powerful sport should you let it be and sometimes the racing industry really does pull together in the hardest of times and I am glad it got some recognition for that and coming out on top with the Bafta.

Back on the flat, declarations for the second day of the Dante Festival, which includes the Group 2 Al Basti Equiworld Dubai Dante Stakes will be announced today.

Last night in the football, Aston Villa vs. Liverpool 3-3. Aston Villa staged a dramatic late comeback against Liverpool at Villa Park to earn a vital point in the race for fourth place in the Premier League. Tonight in the football the Premier League action continues with Tottenham Hotspur vs. Manchester City, who kick off at 8pm.  

I could not believe the highway department called my dad a thief!

However, when I got home, the signs were all there!
