It was a quiet day yesterday with no runners for the stable and today, we also have no runners. There is jumps racing from Warwick and Southwell today with Ayr, Yarmouth and Kempton hosting the flat meetings. In Ireland, they race on the flat at Gowran Park.

Ralph Beckett has revealed he is considering running as many as five for Betfred Oaks on 31st May, the trainer has won the race twice and is considering taking on the mighty Aidan O’Brien. Ralph Beckett has mentioned he is certain two will go there at the moment, but has not put anyone off the idea of running up to five in the race.

Epsom are looking into having a weeklong Derby festival and maybe even an additional big race day, as they look to reinvigorate the course. The track has been suffering with commercial underperformance and the absence of some major meetings outside of the Derby and Oaks. Epsom aren't the only ones looking to make some changes as The Jockey Club have decided to change all of their racecourses to foam padded hurdles after research and trials showed they led to an 11% reduction of risk. Exeter, Market Rasen and Wincanton had actually already used the padded hurdles so the remaining 8 Jockey Club courses will now have the switch also. The change is set to be introduced in October this year to Cheltenham and Aintree and the remaining 6 courses will be changed by the 2026-27 campaign.

In the football tonight, the UEFA Europa League is back and playing tonight is Atalanta vs. Leverkusen who are set to kick off at 8pm.
