A Quiet Thursday!

No runners today for the stable, but there is jump racing action set to be at Market Rasen with flat racing at Sandown, Lingfield, Catterick after passing their inspection this morning and Chelmsford. In Ireland, they race at Limerick over jumps. 

An amber weather warning which could bring up to 100mm of rain has caused some uncertainty for Haydock as they hope to schedule their big race weekend on Saturday.  The ground is currently soft.

The Goff's sales in Doncaster have been going on the past few days and they are set to have their last day which is the second part of the horses in training sale today. John Nallen's striking four year old brought the most interest reaching up to £400,000! He was impressive on his debut at Bellindenisk and despite signs of greenness, came home 12 lengths in front. The horse will be heading to Seven Barrows and I'm sure he will be another exciting prospect for them to add to their team. 

News came about that Jockey Callum Shepherd was set to be jocked off the second favourite for this years Epsom Classic Ambiente Friendly for Rob Havlin. The owners had decided for the big day, they would prefer someone with a little bit more experience on the big days. Callum has done brilliantly on this horse to date and getting to miss out on the big day is always something hard to swallow I'm sure. Callum Shepherd is a skilful jockey and I hope he will get the opportunity's in the future.

Last night in the football in the UEFA Europa League Atalanta 3-0 Bayer Leverkusen. Atalanta won their first ever European final and the result meant that Atalanta has ended a 61 year trophy drought.
