Nibras Gold runs today!
Yesterday we had one runner at Newton Abbot; Walk of the Roses who finished second on her obstacle debut. She did not jump that fluently throughout and got a little hampered on the way round, but she stayed on well after a little break and got a little unlucky not jumping the last too well. But she will improve a lot more on that run. There is jumps racing at Ffos Las and at Warwick tonight. On the flat, there is racing at Ripon, Lingfield and Carlisle. In Ireland, they race over jumps in Limerick and on the flat at Fairyhouse.
Today we head to Ffos Las where we have 5 runners for the stable and Jack Tudor rides all of them. Pub Crawl runs in the 2:28pm Maiden Hurdle over 2miles, he was a bit novice at Hereford on hurdling debut, but does have ability from the flat, so hopefully he can improve on that effort this afternoon.
Steppenwolf makes his debut for the stable and runs in the 3:00pm Handicap Chase over 2miles 3½f. He is a winner over fences in Ireland and has settled in well since arriving here, he has had a wind operation and goes nicely at home, hopefully he can run well and we can learn some more about him today.
Nibras Gold runs next in the 3:35pm Handicap Chase over 2miles, he was a first winner at the course last season, so he likes the track. Making his chasing debut today, but has jumped well at home. He runs off a career high mark today, but does usually run well fresh.
Ocean Heights runs in the 4:08pm Novices’ Limited Handicap Hurdle over 2miles. He returns hurdling off a nice mark after a successful spell on the flat over the winter and the ground was too soft when last seen in action over hurdles. Providing there's not too much more rain, he will enjoy the ground and has a good chance.
Our last runner of the day is Kepagge who runs in the 4:40pm Handicap Hurdle over 2miles 4f. He's a two time course winner and has been disappointing as of late, but hopefully will enjoy some better ground at his favourite course, the handicapper has given him some help and while the race does look competitive, hopefully he holds an E/W chance.
The final field was revealed for the Betfred Oaks on Friday at Epsom and Aidan O'Brien will saddle two leading hopes in the race. Ralph Beckett will be represented by a four-strong team.
Why did the spoon quit his job?
He was going stir-crazy!
Happy Thursday!
