Yesterday was a quiet day for the stable with no runners and today we have no runners either. There is jumps racing at Southwell, which will see the likes of Harry Skelton, Henry Brooke and Sean Bowen in action who occupy the top three placings in the Jump Jockeys’ championship at the moment. On the flat, there are meetings at Leicester, and evening all-weather action at Wolverhampton and Lingfield.
David Bass and Kim Bailey have agreed on a summer break with their partnership as David Bass bids to secure more rides and goes freelance for the summer jumps racing. They have enjoyed an excellent relationship for many years and although the plan is to reunite in the autumn, Bass will be aiming to build more contacts around him and the summer time is always a good time to do it while most yards are in their quieter period.
There is plenty of action building up away from the track also with acceptances for the Coral-Eclipse on July 6th also the Northumberland Plate on July 29th and the Royal Hunt Cup and Wokingham held at Royal Ascot at the later end of this month.
England takes on Scotland in today’s T20 match set to start at 3:30pm. Thunderstorms could disrupt play in Barbados and England will be wary of a repeat of their 2022 defeat to Ireland in a rain-affected game in Melbourne. England did recover from that loss in some style, beating India by ten wickets in the semi-final, before a tense five-wicket victory over Pakistan.

A trebled man!
Happy Tuesday!
