Saturday at Bangor!

We have had a few quiet days with no runners but we are back at it today with two runners at Bangor and they both go in the first race on the card the 1:40pm Novices’ Hurdle over 2miles. Kintaro has David Noonan on board, while Pub Crawl has Jack Tudor in the saddle, both horse have ability but are characters, they are both big prices today.   

Kintaro made his debut over hurdles at Hereford a couple of weeks ago after having a few runs on the flat, he ran well on debut showing some promise and hopefully he can build on that today. 

Pub Crawl’s last run at Ffos Las, nothing went right for him at all when getting hampered early on and losing his position altogether and the race was over quickly for him short after. Hopefully he can have a smoother run this time around and have a bit more luck!

Bangor is the only jumps card scheduled for today in Britain while on the flat meetings are held at Haydock, Beverley, Catterick, Chepstow and Lingfield. In Ireland, they race over jumps for their first day of a 2-day meeting at Punchestown and on the flat at Navan.

Flat jockeys Harry Bentley and Andrea Atzeni have decided to continue riding in Hong Kong next season. Atzeni relocated in Hong Kong last year joining British Jockey Harry Bentley who relocated in 2021, Atzeni is currently 4th in the jockeys title over there and hopes to improve on it next season, committed to closing the gap to perennial champion Zac Purton next season. Bentley has had 33 winners and has struck up most successful season to date.
