Today we have two new stable recruits making their debut for us at Worcester for their evening meeting. Coltor runs in the 7:25pm Handicap Hurdle over 2miles 7f with Jack Tudor in the saddle. He has some high-class hurdling and flat form to his name; he is a likeable character and shows plenty of ability.
Groundbreaker runs in the 7:55pm Maiden Hurdle over 2miles with Jack Tudor in the saddle again. He again has some very good flat form and has schooled well at home, so it will be interesting to see how he gets on today.
Other than evening action at Worcester tonight who is the only jumps fixture today, there is flat action at Newbury, Yarmouth, Nottingham and Musselburgh and in Ireland; they race on the flat at Leaopardstown.
Sad news in the racing world came about yesterday when Racing TV announced the loss of their colleague and familiar face on the TV Jonathon Neesom after a short illness. He had been a regular face on the channel from when it first started 20 years ago. He was a regular player in the channel’s screening of the Cheltenham Festival. He was always very good on the TV, always prepared and had a fabulous sense of humour and he knew exactly what the horses were like, he was a true asset to Racing TV and I am sure he will be thoroughly missed.
Last night at Kempton, Enable's half-sister Zilfee made her debut and she got off the mark just like Enable to win on her debut run. She had to dig deep as she got headed by a more experienced filly in Incensed, but she showed that she will not be lacking for stamina for the future.
What do you call a cup of coffee with a pair of chinos in it?
