Hammer Dan wins at Newton Abbot!
Last night we had three runners at Newton Abbot. Hammer Dan appreciated the better ground last night and ran a lovely race given a good ride from Jack Tudor to come out with his head in front. In the last, we had two for the stable Born In The West & Tres Bien, they both ran well. It was a bit of a strange race, but they were both prominent and Born In The West was unlucky to get caught to finish 2nd and Tres Bien run well to finish 3rd. They both look like horses who are capable of winning races.

Today, there is jumps action at Uttoxeter and Hexham, while on the flat there is plenty going on today with meetings at York, Sandown, Chester, Bath and Leicester. In Ireland, there is jumps action at Downpatrick.

We have three runners today. Bashful Boy runs in the 5:00pm Handicap 1mile 6f at Sandown with Neil Callan riding, he returns to a spin on the flat after his first run back at Newton Abbot in May, he had good form on the flat last year and hopefully will appreciate the switch back today.

We then head to Uttoxeter this evening for two runners. Mr Tambourine Man runs in the 8:15pm Handicap Hurdle over 2miles 7½f with Jack Tudor riding. He won last time out at at Worcester and seems to be in great form with his previous two starts, he's 7/1 in the betting and hopefully he won't be too far away.

We run Granny Smith in the 8:45pm Mares Bumper over 2miles with Jack Tudor riding. She makes her Pond House debut, while her Irish point to point form is nothing to get too excited about, she has a good pedigree with her dam winning a bumper, she's settled in well at home and goes nicely so it will be interesting to see how she gets on today.

Last night the Euro's kicked off with Germany and Scotland being the first game. Germany have got off to a flying start after beating opponents Scotland by 5-1. Today in the Euro's there's a game from Group A which is Hungary Vs. Switzerland who kick off at 2pm. In Group B there is Spain Vs. Croatia who kick off at 5pm and Italy Vs. Albania who kick off at 8pm.
