Oceanline runs at Ffos Las Today
The stable has two runners today, one under each code, Oceanline on the flat at Ffos Las and Born in the West at Hexham in the bumper. Oceanline returns to action after a winter break and is in good form at home. He runs in the 3.40pm handicap over two miles and we have the services of Oisin Murphy in the saddle. Our six year old is a three-time flat turf winner and was impressive at Ascot when last seen on the flat on the grass last autumn. He won that race off a mark of 82 and so is only two pounds higher this afternoon. The track and ground will suit and although the race looks competitive, I think he has a good chance.
Born in the West is making a relatively quick reappearance after finishing runner up at Newton Abbot but he is in such good form at home we decided to let him take his chance again. He was arguably a little unlucky not to have won last time, getting caught in the final few strides and hopefully he can make amends in this. Our point-to-point winner has a good attitude and ability to match and shouldn’t be far away.
After a great Royal Ascot week, things are a little quieter on the racing front today. Hexham is the only jumps meeting while there are two flat cards at Ffos Las and Pontefract.
Today’s Euro football matches are the final Group games and both games kick off at the same time, 8pm. Switzerland play Germany and Scotland play Hungary. It promises to be a tense evening, especially for the Scottish fans and a good result in this match would probably see them through to the knockout stages with Switzerland needing to get something out of their game with Germany if they hope to progress as well.
The England men’s cricket team are in T20 World Cup action again, they play the United States at 3.30pm.
Somerset are in County Championship cricket action today away at Nottinghamshire.
