Today the stable have no runners and there is a flat only day, which is being held at Newcastle, Nottingham, Newmarket, Hamilton and Leicester. Yesterday we had just the one runner at Worcester, which was Born In The West and he didn't quite back up from his run before at Newton Abbot when finishing second but i'm sure there will be plenty more days ahead for him and he is a nice horse.

John and Thady Gosden are set to be one of the many yards to open up to the public for the first time for the Henry Cecil Open Weekend in support of the Newmarket Housing Trust. The event will take place in September on the 21st/22nd and it has had a bit of a shake up, since a few trainers were reluctant to open their doors last year. The new format of the weekend means the yards have been split into two groups, with the first 24 opening this year and the other group of yards opening in 2025. Since the open weekend raised 53,000 last year, they have secured a three-year sponsorship agreement, so there is much to look forward to and should you get the chance to go, I highly recommend it!

The Derby sales are currently taking place over in Ireland and Willie Mullins seems to be restocking his team before the season kicks in and took the auction topper which was 175,000 euros. Willie Mullins will now train the most expensive horses from the first session of the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale. The second day takes place today.

Last night in the football Ukraine 0-0 Belgium, Slovakia 1-1 Romania.

Czech Republic 1-2 Turkey, Georgia 2-0 Portugal.

Did you hear the rumour about the butter?

Well I am not going to go round spreading it!

Happy Thursday!
