Chemical Warfare runs today!
It was a quiet weekend with no runners across the weekend for the stable. We are back today with two runners at Worcester, Chemical Warfare runs in the 2:00pm Handicap Chase over 2miles 4f with Jack Tudor in the saddle. He put up a bold show before falling over course and distance a month ago when going well and looking to be the likely winner, but he has since won over hurdles last time out and hopefully he can build on that coming back here today.
In the 2:35pm Handicap Chase over 2miles 7f we have Behind The Curtain, again with Jack Tudor in the saddle. He is a two time winner over hurdles, after not having a successful start over fences he has first time cheekpieces and if he can put his hurdling form back over fences and get into a nice rhythm early, he should run well.
Other than Worcester today, which is the only jumps fixture on in Britain. There is flat racing at Ayr, Wolverhampton and Ripon. In Ireland, they have jumps action at Roscommon.
Patrick Mullins makes the trip to Worcester this afternoon, riding for his father Willie Mullins Fine Margin. Patrick is looking to add to his achievements by riding a winner on his sole mount at a British track, after he has ridden a winner at Doncaster, Ffos Las, Fontwell, Ludlow, Perth and Warwick. Fine Margin runs in the Novice Hurdle in the 3:10pm.
Over the weekend, City Of Troy was the winner of the Coral Eclipse. The ground did eventually go against him a little and he had to dig deep to get his head in front and it wasn't necessarily his best performance but he became Aidan O'Brian's first Derby winner to follow up in the Coral Eclipse.
It was lovely to see on Saturday evening at Nottingham, young jockey Margot Scudamore ride her first winner she has been in to ride out a few times here at Pond House and says she hopes to make her mark on the flat and looks to become an apprentice in the future.
The sporting action continued with Wimbledon and Andy Murray couldn't fulfil his farewell as doubles partner Emma Raducanu pulled out at the last minute due to a sore wrist. She played the singles and was knocked out last night from New Zealand qualifier LuLu Sun.
England stepped back from the brink of a Euro's exit once again as they secured a Semi-Final place with victory over Switzerland. They went to penalties and won 5-3 and they now look forward to a semi-final against the Netherlands on Wednesday at 8pm.
Why don't some fish play the piano?
Because you can't tuna fish!
Happy Monday!
