Chemical Warfare wins at Worcester!
Yesterday we went to Worcester with two runners; our first runner was Chemical Warfare in the first race on the card. He put up a tough performance to get his head in front and become our 9th winner of the season with his return back to fences. He was not the most fluent jumper all the way round However, Jack Tudor gave him a nice patient ride and he ran on well nicely to the line and there looks to be like more will come from him.
In the following race, we had Behind The Curtain run for the David Pipe Racing Club. He had jumped well throughout and was prominent most of the way round, but maybe is just a bit more natural and confident over a smaller obstacle.
No runners today for the yard, jumps racing is at Uttoxeter. While the flat meetings are at Brighton, Lingfield and Pontefract. In Ireland, they race on the flat at Tramore.
It was an emotional success for the Bowen's at Worcester yesterday as Judge Earle went and overturned recent form a month on from the owner's death, Gwilym Morris. He was a huge supporter of the Bowen team and was like a 'grandfather figure' to the boys. It was even more special as Gwilym Morris' wife Carol was there to witness the win.
In Wimbledon yesterday, Novak Djokovic has reached his 15th Quarter-final as he wins against Holger Rune. The 37 year old is going for eighth Wimbledon title and and record 25th Grand Slam overall. Plenty of drama came from this match as Rune received a lot of backing of many that were in attendance and cheered him on with drawing out his name to which Djokovic took to be booing him. The Wimbledon action continues today.
