Yesterday we had a busy Wednesday at Uttoxeter with 4 runners. Astro Babe ran in the first race on the card making her stable debut for Pond House. She was a little exuberant over the first and never seemed to get into a rhythm, but she did keep galloping to the line. She may even appreciate further in trip and better ground in time.
She was declared to go to Worcester today as a backup on ground reasons for Uttoxeter. So she will of course not run today.
Walk Of The Roses was our next runner of the day and she ran well again, but I think the ground may have caught her out a bit being a little softer than she would’ve liked really. The going at Uttoxeter did change after the first race to soft all over. But it was another good run from her.
Via Dante was our next runner of the day. He just got a little bit tired on the ground with it being a little softer than what he prefers but it was a much more encouraging run for him.
Only Fools was our last runner of the day who run yet another consistent run finishing third, in what turned out to be a competitive race, but she is so tough and always tries her hardest.
Today there is jumps racing at Worcester with the flat meetings at Hamilton, Chepstow, Leicester and Epsom. In Ireland, there is racing over both codes with the flat at Leopardstown and Killarney swap the flat for a jumps card today.
Our first runner comes from Chepstow, where we have Rebel Angel running in the 5:10pm Handicap over 1mile 2f with Laura Pearson riding. She ran here just 6 days ago but did not quite get the best ride and we can certainly put a line through that run, as she is definitely better than that.
We then make the trip to Worcester for their evening meeting with Groundbreaker, who is running in the 7:20pm Novices’ Hurdle over 2miles with Jack Tudor riding. He makes his stable debut today having previously run on the flat for Andrew Balding. He has had a wind op and has taken to jumping well at home, so it will be interesting to see how he gets on here today.
Did you hear about the math book that got a therapist?
It had a lot of problems...
Happy Thursday!
