Manuelito runs today at Market Rasen!
Today we make the long journey to Market Rasen with 2 runners in the 2:40pm Summer Handicap Hurdle over 2miles 1/2f who are Manuelito and Nibras Gold. Manuelito has Jack Tudor on board and returns back to hurdling today after a spin on the flat last time out where he finished second. His previous run over hurdles at Ffos Las he won there nicely and he has such a good attitude and a good level of ability, the ground will suit him and he deserves his shot in a nice handicap like this.
Nibras Gold is our other representative in this race with David Noonan riding and he's not had luck on his side with finishing second a lot recently over fences and seems to just always bump into one! He returns to hurdles today and he is a dual hurdle winner and he too will enjoy the ground and should appreciate the smaller obstacles.
Other than jumping at Market Rasen, there is also jumping at Cartmel. With the flat meetings at Newbury, Ripon, Newmarket, Doncaster and Haydock. In Ireland they have flat racing at the Curragh.
It’s a classic day at the Curragh with the Juddmonte Irish Oaks at 3:40pm which is contested by the best three year old fillies in Europe. There are two other group races at the Curragh, the Castle Sapphire Stakes which is at 3:05pm and the Comer Group International Curragh Cup at 4:15pm. Newbury continues today with its second day and the feature there is the £250,000 Weatherbys Super Sprint at 3:35pm, which is only open to horses who cost £65,000 or less at the sales, with runners weighted on their sale price.
Last night was the first showing of the first episode of the new docuseries, Champion: Full Gallop in ITV1. I thoroughly enjoyed watching it and I couldn't wait to see more, so I actually watched the second episode on ITVX last night also! It's an enjoyable behind the scenes image for the general public and hopefully will attract some new interest. I look forward to watching the rest of it and hopefully it will continue to be successful.
Why did the golfer bring two pairs of trousers?
In case he got a whole in one!
Happy Saturday!
