Final Entry wins at Newton Abbot!
It was a busy weekend for the stable with runners all weekend. Today the stable have no runners but there is racing action at Cartmel which is the only jumps fixture today and on the flat there is action at Ayr, Windsor and Beverley. In Ireland they race on the flat in Ballinrobe.

On Saturday we made the long journey to Market Rasen where we had two in the Summer Handicap Hurdle, Nibras Gold and Manuelito. Nibras Gold looked to be fairly enthusiastic for most of it with headgear on and Manuelito looked to run a little flat than usual. But there will be plenty of other days for both of these horses in the future.

Then on Sunday we were more local at Newton Abbot and Final Entry ran in the Juvenile Hurdle and it was certainly a heart in mouth moment over the first hurdle! But he managed to get himself back into a rhythm and won nicely on stable and hurdling debut becoming our 11th winner of the season. Our other run on the day was Kintaro, which I think the ground went a little softer than he liked but he ran well for a long way and he will have plenty of other days ahead of him.

Amateur Jockey Alice Procter took a heavy fall on Saturday at Cartmel in the ladies race and was airlifted to hospital after immediately reporting back pain, she was under going surgery and remains in ICU and my thoughts go with her and all of her family and this tough time.

Harry Cobden was stood down after his mount unseated him in the opening race and is set to be on the side-lines for a few weeks after appearing to have hurt some of his ligaments in his knee. Nico De Boinville and Harry Skelton took over the rest of his planned mounts at Stratford yesterday. With the break of jump racing coming up shortly, I'm sure Harry will not mind being on the side-lines this time of year.

Doncaster sales today hosts the dispersal of Chris Giles' horses, there are some classy horses up for grabs with Stay Away Fay, Rubaud and Regent's Stroll among the line up. There are some nice young horses with enormous potential up for grabs and the sales takes place at 10am.
