A quiet few days for us now as we do not have any runners until potentially the end of the week. No jumps racing today in Britain as the flat fixtures are at Lingfield, Musselburgh and Wolverhampton. In Ireland, there is jumps action in Ballinrobe.

Oisin Murphy is a short price for the Flat jockeys’ championship, but he continues with full speed as he heads to Wolverhampton for five rides this evening with some good chances.

Yesterday saw the dispersal sale of Chris Giles’ string and saw the hugely promising Regent’s Stroll make a record-breaking £660,000, which is the most expensive jumps horse to change hands at public auction. It was a successful sale for the Nicholl’s team, as the majority of the string will head back to his yard in Ditcheat, including Grade 1 winner Stay Away Fay, who was purchased back for £325,000.

Jack Pipe went to his first ever sale and purchased his first horse.  She is a four-year-old mare called African Lady.  He is looking for an owner for her but read more about their sales trip in David’s weekly blog, which will be available a bit later today.

I believe today is the first day of the Cricket Hundred competition which gets underway.  The first game is the Oval Invincibles at home to the Birmingham Phoenix.  The women’s match gets underway at 2.45pm and the men’s at 6.30pm.  While I am not the biggest fan of the competition itself, it is good to watch and the games are live on TV.

My niece calls me ankle.
I call her my knees!

Have a good day.
