It is not long now until jumps racing is back after the long break, today there are four flat meetings across Britain. The afternoon fixtures are covered at Salisbury and Beverley, while the evening action comes from Kempton and Ffos Las. 

Aidan O'Brien looks to break through the £5 million prize-money barrier in Britain this year and further tighten his grip on the British trainers' title with a rare runner at Salisbury. He saddles The Parthenon in the 3:30pm British Stallion Studs EBF Stonehenge Stakes with Ryan Moore booked for the ride against just two rivals.

Jockey Oisin Murphy was back riding yesterday and after his absence he returned with 4 rides at Lingfield and although not a winner i'm sure it was good to be back riding after all the controversy that carried out and unnecessary headlines. 

In the cricket Ben Stokes England's Test captain is set to miss the rest of the summer after tearing his left hamstring while playing in The Hundred. The all-rounder will miss England's three-Test series against Sri Lanka, which starts on the 21st August. Vice captain Ollie Pope will lead the side in Stokes' absence. He is hoping to return to action for England's three-Test tour of Pakistan which begins on 7th October.
