Final Entry runs today!
Racing action continues today with all flat cards scheduled at Chelmsford, Carlisle, Ffos Las, Newbury and Southwell and in Ireland, they race on the flat at Navan.
We are due to have two runners at Ffos Las which does go ahead after an inspection this morning due to the heavy rain they had encountered which totalled 131.2mm since the 5th August! The ground is currently Heavy and has been dry since 2pm yesterday with no rain forecast today.
The ground's going to be hard work nonetheless today, but Final Entry is our first runner in the 3:55pm Novice Stakes over 1mile 4f with Sean D Bowen on bored. He ran over hurdles last time out winning nicely on stable debut, he has flat form over in Ireland, but with the confidence of a win under his belt and not too many runners, this could be a nice little race for him.
Mr Tambourine Man runs in the 5:00pm Handicap over 2miles with Georgia Dobie in the saddle. He has a lot of character and but he seems to have recently gotten back to form. He hasn't been since on the flat since 2022 but hopefully he can run a nice race.
There was a mix up yesterday as Catterick and Kempton were due to have a race off at the exact same time, quite a rare mix up to say the least! To avoid the clash, Catterick delayed their final race, which was scheduled off at 6pm by five minutes.
The Paralympics opening ceremony took place last night in Paris and around 4,400 athletes are set to take part in 22 Paralympic sports, competing for a total of 549 gold medals.
