It's a quiet weekend for the stable with no runners until Monday, but a busy week ahead of preparations for the National Racehorse Week. Today there is jumps racing at Fontwell with the only flat fixture in Britain at York.

Some nice prizes on offer at York which is headed by the Listed Garrowby Stakes at 4:00pm and has been won for the last two years by Michael Dods and Connor Beasley. Michael Dods saddles Azure Blue this year with David Egan taking the ride. Attention will also be at Longchamp where they have the Group 1 Prix du Moulin, which will feature the eagerly awaited meeting of star milers Notable Speech and Charyn. Both of the Colts will be in search of their third Group 1 win of the season.

The Malton open day is also going ahead today which is part of the National Racehorse Week, it's organised by racing welfare who are a key supporter of the racing industry and it's workforce and they team up with York racecourse to offer a combined ticket to the tracks family meeting this afternoon. Plenty of yards are set to open their doors to the public and it gives people a chance to see the horses in the yard and even be able to go watch them run in the afternoon!

In other sporting news there is plenty of matches to watch in the Group 1 of the UEFA Nations League and in the tennis the US Open continues with the men's singles final. Today also is the final day of the games at Paralympics in Paris and action returns to the streets of the French Capital with the marathons which begins from 7am.
