Today the jumping action has a day off while the flat meetings are at Leicester, Catterick, Lingfield and Newcastle. While in Ireland, flat action continues at Galway. A quiet day for the stable, with no runners today.

Yesterday we had two runners at one of our more local tracks Newton Abbot, they did well to keep the meeting going ahead after some pretty horrendous and wet days recently! Both of our runners ran in the 3:50pm Juvenile Hurdle, Final Entry ran another decent race over the obstacles to finish 3rd and Saucats ran well on stable debut finishing 5th. Both were promising performances and I'm sure more will come of them with time.

It was brilliant to hear that racing commentator John Hunt made his return to work at Brighton yesterday and I noticed plenty of warm filled messages across social media from people who were thrilled to hear his voice back commentating.

Another mention to Freddie Gingell as at Newton Abbot yesterday he rode his 50th winner of his career. He's currently based with Paul Nicholls in Ditcheat, who has never been frightened of using the talented conditional. Freddie is only 18 years old and Paul has mentioned the young jockey is working towards the same stage as Harry Cobden was at his age. They both have a similar background, coming from farming and given the experience and right opportunities, I wouldn't be surprised to see him go far.

What kind of tree can fit inside your hand?

A palm tree!

Happy Tuesday!
