Dindin runs today at Wincanton!
Today the racing action is from Wincanton and Carlisle who both have a jumps card and on the flat we have action coming from Brighton, Chelmsford, Southwell. In Ireland they have flat action coming from the Curragh and the jumps card at Thurles has been abandoned due to a recent dry spell with insufficient amount of rain forecast - the complete opposite to us!
Yesterday we were at Worcester with just the one runner, Jurancon who ran another solid race finishing second. It was his hurdling debut and he jumped well throughout with the only mistake being the third last, he galloped all the way to the line on the run in and it was a pleasing hurdling start and the winner also looks a very nice horse.
Today we head to Wincanton with two runners for the stable. Micronormous is our first runner and runs in the 2:18pm Mares' Novices' Handicap Hurdle over 3miles with Jack Tudor on board. She ran at Worcester last time out and the ground was not entirely to her liking, so hopefully the sounder surface today will suit her more. Dindin runs in the colours of the David Pipe Racing Club in the 5:15pm Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Chase over 3miles 1f with Gearoid Harney riding. He got into a nice rhythm last time out but just didn't quite follow up the good run from before that, he has won round Wincanton before so he likes the track.
Newton Abbot abandoned their meeting which was due to take place on Saturday due to track suffering from the rain we've had, it's shame because it's a track that we like very much and have had plenty of success at and they've had real rotten luck after abandoning a total of 6 of their meetings. They are due to undertake some drainage work over the winter so fingers crossed they can fix the issue and they won't have these issues next season.
Did you hear about the guy who deposited his watch at the bank?
He wanted to save time!
Happy Thursday!
