Well, it's Bonfire Night tonight and we will be hoping for a few sparklers this afternoon!  There is plenty of good jumping action today and we have runners at Wincanton and Sandown.  Le Chasse Spleen makes his racecourse debut at Wincanton, where we will also be represented by Frosted Grape, Qulinton and Madison du Berlais.  Qulinton and Madison both compete in the wide open Badger Ales Chase and it is certainly good to see our former Hennessy winner back on the track.  Tom Scudamore takes the mount on all of our Wincanton runners apart from Qulinton who will be partnered by Hadden Frost.  Enfant de Lune and Clever Dick are our two runners at Sandown this afternoon and they will be ridden by Conor O'Farrell.

I was watching the bumper from Fontwell yesterday with interest to see how our newcomer Buddy Bolero fared.  He raced prominently for a long way and produced a decent effort to finish fourth despite showing signs of inexperience throughout.  The ground looked to be pretty testing and I am sure that there are races to be won with him.  In the same race Miss Milborne looked to be the most likely winner in the closing stages until spotting the entrance to the track and veering violently right as if to run off the track.  It certainly cost her the race and it is something that I have seen happen a number of times before - I am sure that young Sam Twiston-Davies will be well aware of this next time he rides at the track!

As you can see, we have been enjoying an unseasonably mild start to the winter season and between showers we have enjoyed some glorious sunshine.  While I was down admiring the views, I also managed to catch high-class hurdler Dynaste in action on the gallops upsides ex-French recruit Kazlian.  Kazlian makes his debut for us at Market Rasen tomorrow.  Kazlian was featured in David's recent stable tour and you can find out more about him by visiting our Media Vault where he is also mentioned in the accompanying video interview.

The Breeder's Cup got underway last night but sadly there were no European trained winners.  I was quite amused to see that Richard Hughes described Louisville as the most bland place he has ever been.  The main street consists of several wig shops to accommodate the bald people, but other than that there is little else to see!  Unless I am mistaken, I believe that Cassius Clay originally came from Louisville...maybe that is why he took up boxing?!

It is the legendary Lester Piggott's 76th birthday today...I saw him in France back in the summer and he looks no different now than he did back when he was riding!

I have had a great time of it with my football bets so far this season and I will be having a little treble today.  Arsenal (4/9), Charlton (7/10) and Huddersfield (4/9) all look to be banker home wins to me...you heard it here first!
