Lady Balko runs today at Plumpton
It's been a busy weekend with lots going on some exciting performances. Ffos Las was abandoned this morning after their inspection this morning, so the racing action comes from Plumpton with the jumps card and the action from the flat continues after a break at Wolverhampton on the all-weather.

We head to Plumpton today with three runners. Jack Tudor makes the switch after the abandonment of Ffos Las, Givehimthehonour makes his debut for Pond House in the 12:50pm Novices' Handicap Chase over 2miles 3½f. He is a point to point winner and looks to retain potential over fences, he goes nicely at home so it'll be interesting to see how he gets on. Lady Balko runs in the 2:20pm Handicap Chase over 3miles 1½f she's a three time hurdle winner last season and she will have come on from her chasing debut last time out and this is a more suitable trip for her. Kingston Queen finishes the day and runs in the 3:30pm Bumper over 2miles 1½f and she ran well on debut at Chepstow last time out and was not beaten that far at all, it was a promising run and I'm sure she will improve further today, she's a lovely mare and is in good form at home.

The weekend didn't go the way of the stable, but plenty of exciting action nonetheless. at Newbury, Walkadina ran another solid race to finish fourth and this was a really competitive field and she may have stayed a little more in the contention if she had a smoother jump of the last, but she's still a nice mare to look forward to. Remastered ran in the Coral Gold Cup and it wasn't to be for him as he unseated Jack at the 14th, he looked to not travel as well as he has in his previous two starts, but he's all ok and that's the most important thing.

Up in Newcastle, Neon Moon ran in the Rehearsal Chase he travelled and jumped well and there will be another day for him. Yesterday at Leicester, Activist he couldn't quite back up his win last time out over course and distance, he goes in soft ground, but the heavy ground may have a little too soft for his liking, there will be plenty of other days in him.

There was some real satisfaction from the Nicholls yard as Kandoo Kid produced a lovely performance to win the Coral Gold Cup, he was the only runner in the line up to be making his seasonal appearance but that didn't seem to be a worry. It was a race that Paul had been planning to run him in and it's always satisfying for anyone when a plan comes together! He had a good weekend topped off by Caldwell Potter at Carlisle, who made a lovely chasing debut and pinged his fences and looked a natural over the bigger obstacles.

Over in Ireland, Lossiemouth put herself firmly in control of the Champion Hurdle after her lovely performance winning at Fairyhouse yesterday. She was keen early on and even with the other three runners combined, she showed she was too good for them and could take on Constitution Hill next at Kempton. The classy Gordon Elliot trained Teauphoo finished second with him also collecting third and fourth as his runners made up the rest of the field.

Did you hear about the Spatula's hot new flame?

It met the grill of its dreams!

Have a great Monday!
