Pachacuti runs today at Exeter
Racing at Ffos Las goes ahead after they passed their 7:30am inspection this morning with Exeter completing the jumps cards. All-weather action comes from Southwell and Chelmsford today, with the latter providing an evening card. There is no racing in Ireland today.
We have recently had a spell of seconds and Neon Moon continued that yesterday at Ludlow! He ran back to his form and albeit was lucky on a couple of occasions with his jumping where I thought Jack did very well to keep the partnership! It was a step back in the right direction and I am sure it will not be long until he can get back to winning ways.
We were due to run Kepagge at Ffos Las but he will not run due to amount of rain conditions will not suit. Today we head to Exeter with three runners, Tuxedo Junction runs in the 12:10pm Maiden Hurdle over 2miles with Jack Tudor in the saddle. He finished third in what looks to be a useful looking novice hurdle last time out and he pulled well clear with two other rivals and I am sure he will get his head in front soon over hurdles.
Pachacuti runs in the 1:55pm Handicap Chase over 3miles with Jack Tudor again in the saddle, he finished third over course and distance in January and went close at Wincanton last time out to only be beaten by a neck. Providing the ground is soft enough for his liking, he should run another nice race. Back Yourself rounds up the day at Exeter and runs in the 3:40pm Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle over 2miles 5f with Martin McIntyre riding. He's returning here today from a lengthy absence, but conditions should suit today and he's still lightly raced and he's in good form at home.
Sean Bowen is continuing the good run for his fight to win the Champion Jockey title this season as he tallied up a treble on the day at Lingfield yesterday. The treble gives Sean a 6 winner advantage on Harry Skelton who is currently his closest rival.
It was good news for trainer Nicky Richards, as he has come home from hospital following his fall at home. He's hoping that Tommy Whittle Chase favourite Famous Bridge will provide the tonic he needs at Haydock on Saturday. The horse won the race last year and will be looking to repeat the victory in the £50,000 handicap.
