Christmas Eve is finally upon us and the declarations for Boxing Day have been released. the racing in France continues to keep us tied over for a couple of days with listed action headlined at Cagnes-sur-Mer who host a 8 race card.
The Boxing Day declarations have shown we are in for an exciting action packed day across the 7 jumps cards and it looks to be a fairly busy one for the stable with runners coming from Wincanton, Sedgefield, Fontwell and Wetherby throughout the day. Constitution Hill has had the go ahead and will come up against Lossiemouth in the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton with only four of them taking the line-up altogether. It will be good to see him back and I'm sure everyone will have their eyes firmly on him!
Last night it was the Christmas meal for the staff at our local, Villa Verde and was a great success as always, the food was good, the drinks were flowing, and there is not much more you can ask of that! Everyone seemed on their best behaviour and no funny stories as of yet nor is there too sore of heads – but should I hear of anything I will make sure to mention it!
Champion Flat Jockey, Oisin Murphy will be looking forward to the Christmas action especially as he's due to have his first ride over jumps at Wincanton for Neil Mulholland. He was supposed to be making his debut jumping last year but the meeting at Wincanton was abandoned. Oisin's sister is the General Manager at Wincanton, so I'm sure he'll be even more determined to ride a winner!
