Fighter Allen runs Pointing Today
There are three jumps meetings today with some top class action at Newbury, Warwick and Uttoxeter. The stable does not have any runners under rules today but we do have four at our local point-to-point meeting at Chipley Park.
African Lady runs in the maiden race and Royal Defender the Restricted and they will both be partnered by Martin McIntyre. Fighter Allen runs in the Open and Sidi Ismael the novice riders race and they are both ridden by Rian Corcoran. Well done to the organisers of the point to point who have re-organised it after it was abandoned due to waterlogging just under two weeks ago. Best of luck to member of staff, Mia Holmes who will be having her first ride this afternoon in the hunt race on her grandmother’s horse.
There are two meetings on the all-weather at Newcastle and Wolverhampton today and in Ireland, they race at Naas.
Bravemansgame heads the betting in the Denman chase at Newbury this afternoon and it is probably the easiest task he has faced in recent times so it will be interesting to see if he can return to form. Matata is favourite for the Game Spirit chase over 2 miles and the William Hill handicap hurdle at 3.35pm looks open and competitive as you would epect for this valuable contest. The flashy looking Secret Squirrel for the Hughie Morrison team just heads the market for this race.
Yesterday at Kempton, Sirekoff ran well enough in deteriorating conditions to be sixth and will need some help from the handicapper. David made Neon Moon a late non-runner at the track after rain fell and the going turned soft during the afternoon.
Last night in the football, Manchester United were terrible for most of the match against Leicester and were 1-0 down until two late goals saw them secure victory. The Fourth round FA Cup matches continue today with the early kick offs at 12.15pm being Leeds against Milwall and Leyton Orient are at home to Manchester City. Several matches get underway at 3pm while the tea time kick off at 5.45pm is Birmingham against Newcastle United. At 8pm Brighton play Chelsea.
There is also Six Nations rugby action today. Italy play Wales at 2.15pm while England play France at 4.45pm in what promised to be a good game. A great sporting day all round.
Who is bigger: Mr Bigger or Mr Bigger’s baby?
The baby, because she’s a little bigger!
Have a great Saturday!
