  Phantomofthepoints runs at Exeter Today

There are two jumps meetings today at Chepstow and Exeter and we have a runner at each.  Phantomofthepoints runs in the Pertemps handicap hurdle at 3.33pm and Jack Tudor rides.  He has been in good form all season and got a deserved win at Wincanton last time showing a good attitude in a battle at the finish.  He will have to improve again this afternoon but he is a lightly raced seven year old who is unexposed at staying trips and I don't see why he can't.  The ground will be hard work today which he won't mind and our aim is to finish top four which will qualify us for the Pertemps Final at the Cheltenham Festival next month.  It is a competitive race with Gordon Elliott sending one over from Ireland as well but hopefully we will not be far away.

Chauffeur Driven runs in the concluding handicap hurdle on the Chepstow card at 4.30pm and Jonathan Burkes rides.  Our six year old is proving to be a little bit of an enigma so far this season but he steps up in distance today which should suit.  His best run so far this season was at Exeter on his penultimate start where he finished third.  That race was over 2m5 and if improves for the extra distance which we hope he will then he shouldn't be too far away.

There is no all-weather flat action today but in Ireland they do have a good card at Naas with come Graded action.

The Six Nations rugby today is Scotland at home to Ireland, kick off 3pm.

There are three more FA Cup Fourth round football matches being played today.  Blackburn play Wolves at 12.30pm while there is a match in the West Country Plymouth Argyle are at home to Liverpool, 3pm kick off.  Aston Villa play Spurs at 5.35pm.
