Lock Out runs today
The jumps action comes from Sedgefield, Chepstow and Ludlow with the all-weather action coming from Newcastle with an evening card. They are back racing in Ireland, over jumps at Cork.
We head to Chepstow with just the one runner, Lock Out who runs in the 2:55pm Handicap Chase over 2miles 7½f with Ben Bromley riding. He finished second last time out at Wincanton and ran another solid race finishing behind an impressive winner that day. He is a course and distance winner at the track, so hoping he can go one better today!
Last night on the all-weather at Southwell, Ocean Heights ran a much more encouraging race and wasn't beaten that far at all, this is a step in the right direction for him going forwards.
While we are all enjoying the warmer, sunnier weather it is becoming difficult for the racecourses. There have been plenty of small sized fields recently with the quick ground, even resulting in a walkover at Haydock. Looking forward to Aintree, they have already started watering both courses ahead of the Grand National meeting which takes place next month in preparation to keep moisture in the ground.
I gave my handyman a to-do list, but he only did jobs 1,3 and 5 on the list.
Turns out he only does the 'odd' jobs!
Happy Thursday!
