With the drying weather, it means we are set another quiet day for the stable with no runners and although we may be enjoying the drier weather ourselves, it certainly causes difficulties for racecourses. The jumps action comes from Market Rasen and Hereford. Kempton brings the all-weather action with an evening card and it is another quiet day in Ireland with no racing.

Flat jockey Hollie Doyle celebrated her 1,000th winner in Britain at Lingfield on Monday afternoon, in the opening 6f fillies’ Handicap. She is such a talented female jockey, which is exactly what the sport needs. She rode a career-best 172 winners in 2021 and reached 1,000 winners worldwide in September last year and I am sure, there will be many more to follow in the future.

There was a lovely touch at Taunton races yesterday as Paddy Kenneally, former jockey returned to the track yesterday 70 years after riding a winner at the course. He was celebrating his 93rd birthday at the track with a hurdle race scheduled on the card in his honour, where he named the best-turned out horse in the race and presented the prize to the winning connections.

The Champion Hurdle winning duo, Jeremy Scott and Lorcan Williams were in the winners enclosure again yesterday at Taunton with Elusiveness who was an easy winner in the end. Jeremy also mentioned that his stable star, Golden Ace has come out of Cheltenham really well and the plan at the moment is to set to run her at Punchestown.

Broken drums - you can't beat them!

Have a great Wednesday!
