It was yet another good day for the yard yesterday with a double at Plumpton.  I thought that Notus de la Tour jumped really well around Plumpton yesterday afternoon in the novices' chase on only his second outing over fences.  He was well supported in the market and duly justified that confidence by bolting up and odds of 4/9.  Plumpton is quite a tricky course with those downhill fences on the far side of the course taking plenty of jumping.  I didn't see him make a semblance of a mistake en route to an emphatic twenty-four length success and I think that David will soon have to step this one up in class.

Notus de la Tour makes it two from two over fences with his success at Plumpton yesterday

Wings_Of_Icarus_PlumptonWings Of Icarus (pictured right) completed the double for the yard when landing the concluding bumper under a positive ride from the in-form Timmy Murphy.  Our four year old was the winner of an Irish point-to-point on his only previous start and he looks like he will certainly appreciate a longer, he also looked as though he would benefit from the experience as he was wandering around a lot.  It was a great result for owners Shirl And The Girls (David Johnson's wife Shirley, his daughter Lisa and daughter-in-law Claire) - they are lovely girls but do not let their husband's play as much golf as they would like to!  It was Spinal Research day at the course, and a nice gesture from the Johnson's to donate the prizemoney from the race to the cause.
A P McCoy was at his imperious best at Leicester yesterday afternoon as he booted home a treble - the champ went on to say, "It's better than chasing the Pipe and Nicholls machine around Cheltenham!"

I think I might have another little go at the football this evening - Portugal look to be good things to beat Bosnia at 4/9, while Ghana should beat Gabon at 4/7.
