Kingston Queen runs at Aintree!
Day one of the Aintree festival has vastly approached and the main jumping action will come from there today; there is also jumps cards at Plumpton and Segdefield to provide plenty of jumping viewing! The all-weather action comes from Chelmsford this evening and there is jumps action over in Ireland at Naas.

We head all the way to Aintree with Kingston Queen, who runs in the 5:15pm Mares’ Bumper over 2miles with Jack Tudor in the saddle. She has done nothing but improve in all of her starts and she stepped up again at Market Rasen in January, she has such a lovely attitude and deserves to take her chance here today.

Yesterday we were at Exeter, Kintaro was enjoying himself out the front and did make an improvement on his previous efforts, and he jumped well, kept galloping all the way to the line. Castle Daragh did complete on this occasion which was a positive and he did look like he was enjoying himself for a long way, so hopefully something we can build on to get him back to form.

The big race of day one at Aintree is the Aintree Hurdle due to set off at 3:30pm and features the re-match between Constitution Hill and Lossiemouth. Constitution Hill beat Lossiemouth on their last meeting in the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton on Boxing Day. The original plan for Constitution Hill was to head straight to Punchestown after falling at the Cheltenham Festival, but he has come out of the race well and the team have decided to take their chance here with Ireland still may be on the cards.

The new jockey competition which was introduced this season for the first time, The David Power Cup comes to an end on Friday with plenty of prize money up for grabs all the way down to 10th place. Harry Skelton looks cosily in the lead and guaranteed the winning prize, but the second placings are much more exciting to watch with Nico De Boinville and Harry Cobden in a close battle with only an 8 point divider.

What do you get when you mix a cocker spaniel, a poodle and a ghost?

A cocker-poodle boo!

Happy Thursday!
