Another Saturday, another big races success!  What a performance from Dynaste to land the competitive Fixed Brush handicap hurdle at Haydock.  He led or disputed the lead the whole way and quickened impressively to leave his rivals toiling turning for home - he stayed on really well to score by an impressive eight lengths in the hands of Conor O'Farrell.  I thought the young Irishman gave him a fantastic ride and he is clearly one of the most improved jockey's in the weighing room.  Meanwhile, Dynaste is yet another example of David's ability to spot a bargain and he picked up a handy £42,000 for his efforts on Saturday alone.

Imsingingtheblues_AscotJust when we thought that things couldn't get any better, Hadden Frost produced a beautiful ride to land the competitive handicap chase at Ascot aboard I'msingintheblues (pictured right) and add another £30,000 to the kitty.  I was delighted for owners Sean and Jo Tracey who are great supporters of the sport - they had come down from Scotland and were rewarded with a winner on Friday (Quito du Tresor for Lucinda Russell) and I'msingingtheblues on Saturday.  I bet there was some party in the Tracey household over the weekend!

I have to say how fantastic the scenes were at Haydock as Kauto Star rolled back the years to turn over Gold Cup winner Long Run in the Betfair Chase.  I'm not convinced that Nicky Henderson had Long Run at his best on his seasonal debut - at least, you would hope that there will be some improvement forthcoming.  Still, not to detract from the performance of Kauto Star, it was a great effort - racing needs it's stars and he has been such a wonderful advertisement for the sport over the years.

We were out of luck at Exeter yesterday, with Water Garden finishing runner-up in the conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle, however we have three runners this afternoon, Tigger at Ludlow and My Brother Sylvest (who has broken the track record on his last three starts) and Leflammedeglorie at Ffos Las so we will be hoping to go one better!  Young Frank Hayes takes the ride aboard Tigger, while Tom Scu will be aboard our pair at the Welsh track.
